NIR transmission spectra of some common liquids (absorbance spectra).

NIR spectrum of water recorded with two different cell thicknesses to see the main bands and the two smaller ones at 1200 and 1000 cm-1.

Overtones and combination bands of O-H and C-H bonds in methanol.

NIR spectrum of C-H bonds in acetone. The big peak at around 1900 nm is probably due to water present as impurity in acetone.

Bromo-naphtalene exhibits detailed aromatic C-H spectrum.

Mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons C-H spectrum.

The spectrum of white-spirit is rather similar to the preceding spectrum. It is also a mixture of hydrocarbons probably essentially aliphatic.

Microscopic immersion oil. The peak at 2150 nm could indicate the presence of some aromatic rings.
